MARCH WEEKEND:KOREAN BUFFET, SOY AND 3DAY SALE

My brother and I spoiled our parents to a Korean Buffet at Don Day restaurant in Malingap street, Q.C. (across Pino Restaurant)
Why DON DAY? 199php for a regular buffet and with pork samgyeopsal at 299php /beef brisket at 399php. It's such a steal!

Luckily for us, Sunday was a cloudy splendid day so I did not need to worry about the place since it has no air conditioning. Though there was a separate room with AC.

Appetizers, kimchi, spinach, croquettes, pumpkin soup, clear pork soup, chap chae...

So, if your pork and beef runs out, you can order another round. Thing is, no sharing. The staff saw us share the beef since we just ordered one vs. 3 pork samgyeopsal.

In Eastwood Mall walkway, there is a small vegetarian haven: MR. BEAN. Soy paradise. So what's in the menu? Hot/ Cold Soya milk, Hot choco in soya, iced soya, and pancakes (like mini sandwhiches)

ICY SOYA better if at normal sugar level. Mine was at 75% and tastes bland

BITTERSWEET:BLUSHING CUPCAKES LIBIS

This is my comfort food: Blushing Cupcake's smores and rocky road. Too bad that their Libis branch is relocating to Ortigas Home Depot, which is far from my office.

So it it bittersweet that my office mates and I will never walk to Blushing Cupcakes for that sugar craving solution. Hence, on their last day, February 28, 2013----cupcakes were sold at 50% off!

I'm gonna miss these babies

MY BDAY IN A NUTSHELL

Last January, I celebrated my 30th birthday.  So here's what happened

 So far, Marriott Hotel RW has the best buffet. EVER. Plus, I so love the service. Very friendly and efficient staff that makes you feel right at home!

Then, I treated my family at Abe Trinoma. I was a bit disappointed with the Tamarind shake though. Abe at Serendra prepared it best. The Batute, frog meat was dry. Nevertheless, Abe serves unlimited rice!

Sagada's Orange Country

It is still the usual Filipino food, but with a touch of freshness. The vegetables are superb!Here is what I ate in Sagada.

Rock Inn Valley

High Ceilings, Wooden Interiors,Nice Big Windows

They are also known for their home-grown oranges in their backyard. You can buy them for 50 pesos per kilo.

Best-tasting Beef and Brocolli. Crunchy Veggies, I love!

Mountain Province are known 'cuz of their red rice

Their Pinikpikan (where chicken is brutally killed then served as food) is different. It has a smokey flavor so expect that it's salty. You may ask why.Here is what made it smokey.

Etag. This is a specialty served for feasts in Sagada.

Aside from oranges, they also grow pears. This is served with vinegar with a dash of salt. Bad for the those with acidic stomachs but great for the food explorer.

Their hot choco is nothing special. Mcdo is better.

Chillin' Sagada

I have been dreaming to go to a sunny Sagada for a few years already. Finally, I had the chance to! Though it was with Bagyong Mina :) Heavy rains and strong winds did not stop us from going. I was thinking of my safety, of course but these people I was with were quite adventurous.

Checked-in at Olahbinan at 250 per head. Wooden walls, Fluffy Pillows, Common CR is what you get.

The Inn has a very cozy ambience. Downstairs, you can lounge around and order. We were stuck cuz of the rain and decided to eat here for dinner.

The fireplace adds up to the cozy feeling. The hospitable staff invited us to chill with 'em over pulutan and gin.

Went through Echo Valley then to the Hanging Coffins. Muddy and slippery trek made this adventure even more exciting!

At Kiltepan View. It was foggy but the Rice Terraces are just so beautiful to look at!

At Lumiang Cave. Stacked old coffins can be seen.

 The Episcopalian Church. The Church's interior is an epitome is simplicity.

 There was a landslide going to Lake Danum. What to do? Cross the landslide!
